The best time to visit Thailand is from November to February. This period offers mellow weather with nice temperatures and lower humidity. It's ideal for exploring cities and cultural attractions without the discomfort of heavy rainfall.

If you come to Golden Pagodas country in the sunny season, from March to May, you will be fascinated with the famous Water Festival on April 13-15 every year. Don’t miss recreational activities on Pattaya and Phuket beaches. You also can travel in the rainy season, from July to October, to experience floating markets and enjoy tropical fruits.

Thailand Pass is a Thai passport system that began in November 2021 to replace the CoE system ( the certificate of entry). This new system cuts down the time required compared to the previous entry permit. You must register for a Thai Pass and receive a QR code to be allowed to enter this country. There are steps to register for Thailand Pass:

Step 1: Register the system through the link: https://tp.consular.go.th/.

Step 2: Choose the right program to apply (depending on your eligibility).

Step 3: Declare and upload your required information or documents. 

You don't have to use Thai when traveling here. You can communicate with Thais in English because it is the second language in Thailand. However, if you want to explore Thai culture better, there are few sentences for communicating with locals.

●      Sa - wa - dee: a common greeting in Thai that can be used by everyone.

●      Chai/Mai: yes/no

●      Kob khun: thank you.

●      Mai - pen - rai: Okay/nothing

●      Kor - tot/ Kor - a - nu - yart: Sorry.

●      Tai - ruup - dai - mai: Can I take a picture?

●      Nee - arai: What is this?

For the first-time trip, you should memorize the top 4 most taboo things below:

●      Women are not allowed to touch monks.

●      Don’t whistle at night. Because it’s believed that a whistle sound can help ghosts find you.

●      Don’t touch people’s heads. Thai natives consider the head to be the most precious part of the human body so this action can be seen as offensive.

●      Don’t use your left hand to give things to others. Thai people believe that the left hand is unclean so you should use the right hand to show respect.

There are traditional costumes in Thailand:

Thai Chakkri: the most used Thai costume of Thai women on important occasions.

Thai Borompiman: suitable for slightly older women and is designed to be more casual than Chakkri.

Thai Siwalai: have a design that is a combination of Chakkri and Borompiman but it is more innovative in colors and textures.

Thai Chitlada: looks similar to the modern women’s suit, suitable for formal ceremonies.

Royal Thai costume for men: look like modern vests, the other difference is that the traditional Thai shirt has a stand collar.

For Thailand, there are four associated plug types, types A, B, and C. Plug type A is the plug that has two flat parallel pins, plug type B has two flat parallel pins and a grounding pin and plug type C has two round pins.

Thailand operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Visiting Thailand, you can go for a few days or many days, depending on the time frame you have and the place you want to experience.

If you have moderate time, go for 5 days including Bangkok - Pattaya.

For about 7 days, you can combine Bangkok - Pattaya - Phuket or Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai.

Don't miss the entire North or South of Thailand trip if you are comfortable with time. This trip is suggested for 10 days or more.
