 On your own

  • After breakfast, tour guide meets you at hotel
  • visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts from the Royal period in Luang Prabang.
  • Cycling on, we are seeing the city’s oldest temples, the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roof sweeping low to the ground, representing classical Lao architecture, the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham. 
  •  After lunch settle, climb to the top of Mount Phousi to explore the sacred gilded stupa and to enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the sun setting over the Mekong River. 
  • Visit the famous Luang Prabang Night Market, where you can find a unique selection of handmade textiles and handicrafts locally made by both ethnic Lao and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

  • At 8.30 am, our tour guide and driver will meet you at hotel then we start driving to Halong Bay
  •  Welcome aboard the cruise. Refresh with our welcome drink, Check into your cabin.
  • Join a typical local lunch in the dining room or at the outdoor dining area.

  • Explore Surprising Cave
  • Visit Titop island for swimming or do the short trek to the top of island to have the overview of Halong bay from here.

  •  After lunch, continue your journey to Angkor Wat Temple – one of the seven greatest architectural wonders of the world, built in between the 9th – 13th century.
  • 16.30pm: return to hotel.

The balanced trip of sightseeing, relaxation, and cultural immersion

Southwest Areas was attractive to me. However, it is challenging to find a tour that includes as many countries as possible. I saw the advertisement for the New Asia Tour and booked it. I recently undertook a 12-day private tour across Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia, and it surpassed all expectations. The meticulously crafted itinerary balanced sightseeing, relaxation, and cultural immersion. The accommodations ranged from luxurious boutique hotels to charming lodges, providing comfort and stunning views. Local guides enriched our experiences with profound insights and knowledge of each destination's history and culture.

Impressively, I would have a new tour guide when I arrived in each country. For example, I met Visal Philavanh - a local person in Laos. With profound experience and knowledge, he conveyed a lot of things to us. Culinary delights were abundant, offering traditional dishes that captured the essence of each region. While transportation was generally smooth, longer travel days could have been broken up for added comfort. Overall, the tour provided an unforgettable blend of iconic landmarks, authentic experiences, and a deep appreciation for the cultural tapestry of these countries. It's a highly recommended journey for those seeking a comprehensive Southeast Asian adventure.
