Bali is a picturesque island located in the Indonesian archipelago. This island is more than 5,700 km2. The strait is connected to the Bali Sea in the North and in the South with the Indian Ocean. In addition to its diverse landscapes, Bali is equally famous for its unique structures, which are the combination of both ancient and modern.

Seasons in Bali
According to my Bali experiences, there are two primary seasons: the dry season and the wet season. You need to understand the characteristics of each season because it is the key to planning your perfect Bali getaway.
Dry Season
Bali's Dry Season stretches from May to August. This period offers sunny days, warm temperatures and minimal rainfall. In addition, the island experiences a delightful climate with temperatures averaging around 31°C (88°F). It is an ideal time for immersing yourself in water sports, exploring Bali's vibrant culture or just basking in the sun.

Wet Season
On the other hand, the Wet Season in Bali lasts from December to April. This period has its own unique charm. You can expect the lushest and greenest of Bali Island. Furthermore, you also can enjoy cultural experiences, ceremonies and less-crowded attractions.

June in Bali is known as the month of festivals. The Indonesian cultural festival will include performances taking place at the Bali Arts Center in Denpasar, with unique and extremely attractive performances. If you are a lover of local culture and like to explore these activities in depth, this is the month you should consider going to Bali.

July and August are the peak tourist season in Bali, making it a fantastic time for travelers seeking a lively atmosphere. However, the prices are higher and the bustling tourist areas can get crowded so you need to book accommodations and activities in advance.

September to November
In September, crowding at tourist attractions shows no signs of remission. In return, this is one of the most pleasant and lively times in Bali. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy the fire throwing festival at a small temple in Turban on the island.
Bali's weather in October is quite hot, this is the hottest time on the island. The temperature is over 30 degrees Celsius. Although you will be a bit uncomfortable because of the hot weather, this weather is especially suitable for activities such as swimming, surfing and waterfall bathing.

November in Bali falls during the rainy season, the weather is often very humid, uncomfortable, and the rain lasts for a long time. However, you can take advantage of lower prices and fewer crowds while still experiencing Bali's unique culture. You can participate in the Bali International Jazz festival on this island.
December to April
In the last month of the year, everyone is excited because of the season of festivals. At this time, the streets are sparkling and beautiful, the atmosphere is cheerful and the people are radiant. However, at this time Bali also occasionally has sudden rains and is crowded with tourists.
Traveling to Bali in January is really not a favorable time because the weather is very humid. It rains continuously and each rain usually lasts for several hours. Bali is a place with a lot of trees, so be even more careful if you choose to stay at hotels or resorts located near the jungle, because there will be many insects.
Cooler air after rain
Bali in February is still a rainy and humid month. If there is a sunny day, it will be extremely hot and the night will be cold, quite difficult for tourists to adapt to. However, you will not have to endure the crowds and queue for several hours like during the peak season.
Traveling to Bali in March, you will have the opportunity to immerse in the atmosphere of local people celebrating the Silent Festival - a quite big holiday in Bali. The weather is also quite favorable for travel, the rains are less frequent, the weather is cool and the sky is bright.
April in Bali is not yet a peak tourist season, so the number of tourists is not crowded, you will "breathe easier" because you do not have to stand in line for kilometers long to take your turn to take pictures. The weather is also more stable for sightseeing activities with little rain and not too hot.

- Insect repellent: Bali is a tropical destination so mosquitoes can be a nuisance. You need to pack insect repellent to keep those pesky insects at bay.
- Footwear: Comfortable and durable footwear is essential, especially if you plan to explore the island. Sandals, flip-flops and trainers are all good options.
- Local currency: While credit cards are widely accepted in tourist areas, it's a good idea to carry some Indonesian Rupiah for small purchases, taxis and areas with limited card acceptance.
