The Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee recently held a meeting to discuss solutions for promoting and developing tourism towards the end of the year. They also planned to allocate seven pristine island areas with beaches in Halong Bay to serve the ultra-luxury segment, targeting the top 1% of the world’s population.

According to a report from the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, despite the impact of Typhoon No. 3, Quang Ninh welcomed 15.6 million visitors in the first nine months of 2024, a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2023, achieving 98.1% of the nine-month growth scenario.

Additionally, total tourism revenue is estimated to reach nearly 37 trillion VND, a 39% increase compared to the same period in 2023, achieving 97.8% of the nine-month growth scenario.

Notably, there were nearly 2.6 million international visitors, mainly from markets such as China, South Korea, Taiwan (China), the USA, India, France, Australia, the UK, Germany, and Japan.

In the last three months of 2024, Quang Ninh aims to welcome over a million visitors, including more than 900,000 international visitors. The province is determined to achieve the goal of welcoming 19 million visitors in 2024.
