The “Hot list” of restaurants is selected annually by the culinary experts of the top American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller (CnTraveller). The 2024 Hot list features 29 new restaurants from 21 countries, introduced by the magazine with an opening sentence mentioning Ho Chi Minh City: “A compilation of the most excellent dining destinations of the year, from Miami to Ho Chi Minh City.”
The restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City that stands out in this list is “Pot Au Pho”, specializing in pho. It not only serves traditional pho but also creatively offers unique dishes infused with the flavors of pho.

Pot Au Pho is located in an old building in the Tôn Thất Đạm apartment complex in District 1. Despite its modest size with 14 seats, it boasts standout dishes. Notably, the menu includes a $100 pho, a Phojito pho cocktail, and a molecular pho ball.

Head chef Peter Cuong Franklin emphasized that their team’s focus is on cooking for customers, not merely for awards. The recognition from Michelin, the 50 Best Restaurants award, and most recently, Condé Nast Traveller, is a testament to the hard work and creativity of the entire team.
Peter expressed his pride and happiness, saying, “I feel very proud and fortunate to have the opportunity to bring a restaurant from Vietnam onto the global stage.”
